Agenda:

• Presentation from Central Park Conservancy on three projects:
  • Bethesda Fountain Restoration; modernize the fountain’s mechanical, plumbing and control systems to improve performance, efficiency and maintenance.
  • Concert Ground Benches; comprehensive replacement of the wooden slats on the seats and backs of the benches, restoration of the existing cast aluminum bench posts, and resetting of the hex block pavers surrounding the benches.
  • Grand Army Plaza South Lighting; modify the street lighting approved for the Grand Army Plaza South project to follow new DOT requirements, and add monument lighting to the Pomona statue and General Sherman monument.
• 390 Fifth Ave., W. 36th St. Facade; application to include installation of new louvers in a new opening on West 36th Street Facade.
• 636 6th Ave., application for a new project at 636 6th Avenue, located in the Ladies’ Mile Historic District, to rehabilitate the existing office/retail building and convert it into a new health center for the members of NY HTC, a labor union for hotel workers. Work incluides replacing storefront infill and re-cladding piers at the non-historic building base; replacing localized windows at the second and third floors; re-cladding an LPC-approved rooftop addition; and installing new HVAC units on the roof.
